MARY FRAN BONTEMPO is an award winning author, speaker, humorist and teacher who believes in the power of women. For over 30 years, Mary Fran has written for and about women and girls, forging connections through humor and common experience.
Founder of the humorous lifestyle blog, Not Ready for Granny Panties, Mary Fran is the author of three books and a former newspaper columnist. Her most recent book, The Woman’s Book of Dirty Words, is a humorous take on everyday words that make women cringe. Mary Fran shows readers how to tweak their self-talk and thus redefine their dirty words, guiding them towards vibrant, joyful lives. Not Ready for Granny Panties—The 11 Commandments for Avoiding Granny Panties was first book in the NRFGP series and teaches women how to avoid the mental granny panties that age us and keep us stuck.
Mary Fran has received recognition from the Erma Bombeck Writers Workshop and Humor Press, among others. Her work has been featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Bulletin and numerous publications throughout Philadelphia and New Jersey. Mary Fran currently writes for her blog, Not Ready For Granny Panties and is a featured columnist for Women’s Voices Magazine and Best Kept Self.
A wife (34 years and counting), mother to three, new grandmother, teacher, church singer, member of Soroptimists International and multiple networking and business organizations, Mary Fran delights in sharing her inspiring message with women and girls from all walks of life.
