Forget it. It doesn’t matter what talents you were born with or the family you may or may not have had.
It really doesn’t matter about the money you’ve made or lost. And it certainly isn’t about those good times and bad times you’ve faced in your life. They are lining the waste paper pins of yesterday with the newspapers that are now out of date telling us news that now is almost irrelevant.
Truly I say now, to break away from the baggage of the past and press on into our discovery of a life ahead of us – maybe even a life we could only dream of – we need to push every hindrance aside and press on into the life that our Creator has destined us for. It’s time to discover your full potential.
We all have huge potential inside of us to achieve more, make a big difference in other people’s lives and to fulfill our destiny. The brilliant part is that the potential you have is unique to you. The potential that your friends have is unique to them. The potential I have to make a difference is unique to me. It’s that unstoppable mix of your genetics, the place you find your life in now, what you have experienced in the past and the lessons learned, even the way your body has been designed. It’s all proof of your unique future potential.
Of course, the first step is discovering just what it is that we are called to do and what it is that we are supposed to be doing to reach our full potential. For some this is an instinctive process and we feel or know exactly what we should be stepping forward into. Often helped by a watchful parent or teacher, as young adults, someone spots something in us from an early age and helps forge it into creation.
For others, this never happens and there is no-one to help us, even now as adults, to discover what it is that we should running towards.
Discovering this potential for us is about seeing this amazing ability, often hidden from view. I tell you now, it’s inside of you.
Truth be told, it might be one heck of a struggle for you to identify just what’s waiting on the other side of this journey to really discover your true potential. If this struggle seems like something you really don’t want to go thought, it will be the biggest problem that will keep you from being the person you are called to be. It’s what is stopping you from even taking the first step.
Whatever reasons you have for not being able to unlock your fullest potential, the most important thing to remember is none of it really matters. I don’t say this flippantly, but your potential is not for your benefit. It is for the benefit of others and the gifts, talents and experiences you have had are for the benefit of others – to make a difference in their life. Not even taking the first step on this journey to discover your full potential is simply selfish. And you don’t want to be seen as a self-centered, inward looking individual do you?
For every time you’ve struggled and stressed about not finding your passion to follow, there is a person who has learned to. If they can do it, you can too.
So where do you start?
Our mind can work with us or against us in terms of helping us to reach our full potential. Learning to override the fears of failure and not being good enough, to let go of social phobias and with the release of bondage of our limiting beliefs – this will help us to see what we have to give to the world and in turn serve those that we are called to serve.
These are 7 quick wins we can start with to get our minds around any of these blockages:
- Discover the talents and gifts we were given and how we can develop them.
- Learn how to spot new opportunities to develop personal growth and learn new skills.
- Set goals we have always thought were the goals of dreamers, and then meet those goals.
- Develop a strong sense of purpose and direction.
- Learn the value of our lives in this world and what a difference our new life can make.
- Become people who love to face a challenge and then meet it, and overcome it.
- Learn the benefits of a balanced life where our physical, emotional, spiritual and financial health lives in harmony with each others around us.
- Remember, a life lived with passion is a life lived fully.
