Blogging – An Effective List-building Tool for Writers and Other Entrepreneurs
Everybody’s talking about blogging! What’s the buzz about?
W2W Success Mastery 2My friend, blogger Nancy Perkins recently researched the history of blogging back to its roots and what she found was interesting. You can read about it in the soon to be published, Writer to Writer series book, Success Mastery Edition. (I’m the publisher, so I’ll keep you posted.)
Blogging, like everything else is and will continue to EVOLVE.
By evolve, I mean change. The one thing we can always count on with everything is change. Sometimes for the better, other times, well….
In the case of blogging, I will say most changes are for the better. There’s a lot of work to successful blogging, but it’s worthwhile in the end.
What is Blogging?
In case you’re not sure, a blog is a social media platform. If you’re not sure how and why, scroll back through my blog. I’m sure I’ve written about this somewhere. If not, stick around. I’m sure to talk more about this in the future. Please subscribe to my RSS feed.
Today I want to discuss the value of blogging, and since most in my circle are authors/writers and entrepreneurs, I’ll shoot out a few here’s-whys related to blogging for business. (Not to mention the value for list-building!)
Two things I’ll say first:
Blogging is worth the time.
Blogging is worth the effort.
Here are FOUR reasons these two things matter:
Blogging will help drive traffic to your website (or blog, or Facebook page, etc.).
If you do it correctly, your optimized blog will increase your SEO.
Your blog will help position your brand as an industry leader.
Most importantly, you can build a following i.e. list-building, and then use your blog to develop better client/customer/reader relationships.
Over the next few weeks I’ll address each of these here’s-whys on its own.
For now, suffice it to say as a writer, your blog is a worthy investment and effective tool to build a database filled with potential readers and clients.
